A-Rod Day at Yankee Stadium.

"Alex Rodriguez 3,000th hit pre-game ceremony"

That's the official description from the Yankee website page for promotions:

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/schedule/promotions.jsp?c_id=nyy

Alex Rodriguez will have his big day today as the Yankees try to avoid a humiliating four game sweep at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays.  A-Rod can't catch a break.  A couple of weeks ago in Atlanta a Braves fan became so enraged when Rodriguez stepped to the plate that the fan somehow fell to his death from the upper deck.

Maybe vindication today will be determined not by how many of the four adult Steinbrenner Kids show up but whether former A-Rod best buddy Derek Jeter shows.

Why are the Steinbrenner Kids doing this?  Maybe because average attendance is down about 2,000 per game from 2014 to about 40,000.  The Mets are up about 5,000 to 31,000.

Hypocrisy on steroids: Alex Rodriguez thanks MLB and the "Steinbrenner family" and Tom Verducci embraces A-Rod after hit 3,000.

Yankee charity starts at home. Steinbrenner Kids: add cheap to dumb, lazy and tacky. Sunday, July 5, 2015

Alex Rodriguez milestone to be honored by Yankees ... three months late. Sunday, August 16, 2015

Alex Rodriguez has reached two big round milestone numbers and may reach a third one this season.  The Yankees have announced that they will honor Alex for the one where he ranks the lowest.
