Cabrera v. Trout, home/road.

I was re-reading my previous post and wondered about a disparity in the batting numbers of Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout.  Specifically it's about On-Base Plus Slugging (OPS) and OPS+ (adjusted to a player's park).

Among American Conference batting leaders:

OPS:
1. Cabrera (DET) .999
2. Trout (LAA) .963

OPS+:
1. Trout (LAA) 171
2. Cabrera (DET) 165

They switched places.

OPS home/road split:
Cabrera 1.094/.913
Trout .976/.951

Trout is more consistent and better on the road.

The big disparity for Cabrera is SLG: .692/.529.  Trout's SLG: .586/.544.  Cabrera has a big drop in SLG on the road: .163.

Cabrera hit 28 home runs (HR) at home in 295 at bats (AB) and only 16 on the road in 327 AB.  AB/HR: 10.5/20.4.

Cabrera likes home cooking or his home park in Detroit.  Either way, maybe a little too much.  Another plus for Mike Trout.
