"I hope there are some radical changes considered,'' said New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson. "I guess a clock would be among one of those considered radical.''
As MLB's executive vice president for baseball operations from 1998-2005, Alderson was in charge of pace of game, and the games did get a bit quicker during his tenure – as short as 2:46 in 2003 – only to fall back into languid ways.
