Do teams have plans? Wednesday, December 10, 2014
Brian Cashman of the Yankees. It would seem that the Steinbrenner Kids, if they are not too busy, could sue Cashman for dereliction of duty and void his brand new three year contract, which extends his 16 year tenure as Yankee GM. The Yankee plan seems to be to expect high priced bad signings of the past, who will be another year older in 2015, to play up to their contracts...
A year ago the Yankees wanted to finally get under the soft salary cap but signed McCann, Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran to put them at the limit, then signed Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, which put them over. This year, with the team hopelessly over the cap, the Yankees are refraining from spending big. What? That's a plan? For what, driving fans away?

If the Yankees don't sign Max Scherzer, the Steinbrenner Kids should sell the team. Thursday, December 11, 2014
Max Scherzer is pretty much all that's left for the Yankees to add any meaningful player for next season.

Did Yankees and Padres exchange markets? Saturday, December 20, 2014
You can't make up stuff like this. Today the Yankees traded utility man (2B, 3B, OF) Martin Prado and starting pitcher David Phelps for Marlins 1B Garrett Jones and starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi. Say what? I had no idea who the Marlin players were...
Some players the San Diego Padres recently acquired:
Matt Kemp from the Dodgers
B.J. Upton
Wil Myers ...
... the Yankee moves seem timid. After wasting big bucks a year ago, the Yankees now seem seized by indecision, unwilling to either spend money or take chances...
Supposedly the Mets were considering Rockie Troy Tulowitzki. Imagine the humiliation, at least in the short term, of the Mets getting Tulo and the Yankees settling for Didi Gregorius. George Steinbrenner must be turning over in his grave.

Whom would GEORGE Steinbrenner have acquired? Sunday, December 21, 2014
Since the end of the 2014 season I think George Steinbrenner would have made these acquisitions:
- Andrew Friedman, general manager
- Max Scherzer, starting pitcher
- Jon Lester, starting pitcher
- Matt Kemp, revived OF, a big bopper
- Troy Tulowitzki, SS whose hero was retired Yankee captain Derek Jeter.
