Traded for nobodies by teams that quit: Price, Cespedes, Cueto, Hamels, Kazmir.

About one third of the teams have quit with one third of the season remaining.  They chose to trade key players in exchange for unproven players almost all of whom have never played in the Major Baseball League (MBL).  Below are five of the established players who were recently traded.  Fans in Detroit, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Oakland could not name the players received nor pick them out of a police style lineup.  Right now those players are nobodies to those fans.  This system is a disgrace, which undermines the basic integrity of the baseball season.

The first three established players below are strictly two month rentals.  Their contracts expire after the 2015 season when they become free agents and can sign with any team.

Any fans who bought tickets for games after July 31 should get a full refund.  If they were so entitled, maybe this practice would diminish.

David Price 2012 Cy Young award; free agent after 2015
Yoenis Cespedes 2014 All Star; free agent after 2015
Johnny Cueto CY 4,2; free agent after 2015
Cole Hamels CY 6,5,8,6; free agent after 2019
Matt Harrison is 29 years old and has pitched 668 innings for Texas since 2008; he's the only major league player Philadelphia received for Hamels.

Scott Kazmir three time All Star; free agent after 2016
