Will Dellin Betances be traded? By his demand or Yankee retribution?

Read yesterday's post about Steinbrenner petty vindictiveness and its latest victim Dellin Betances.

Later Yankee president Randy Levine criticized the agent of Yankee relief pitcher Dellin Betances for asking too high a salary for his client.

Then the Yankees won the arbitration case with Betances.

So now what?

The Yankees seem bitter and Betances seems bitterly disappointed. He was used and abused. He cooperated too much with Yankee field manager Joe Girardi. It's unreasonable to expect that cooperation going forward.

The Yankees refused to split the $2 million difference, which comes down to one million dollars of a $200 million payroll. That's half of one percent.

And for what? So that Hal Steinbrenner, Randy Levine and Brian Cashman can exercise their petty vindictiveness?

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
