Dave Dombrowski, Tigers GM, fired because he gave up but owner didn't.

New Detroit Tigers General Manager (GM) Al Avila on Tigers owner Mike Ilitch: 'He hasn't given up on this year'.

Avila has replaced Dave Dombrowski who was the Tigers GM for 14 years.  Dombrowski had recently given up on the Tigers for the 2015 season.

The Detroit Tigers are 3.5 games out of a wild card tournament spot.

Dombrowski got what he deserved.  Maybe his firing will cause his former peers to use more common sense.
