Physics in Baseball: do performance enhancing drugs increase home runs?
Mon, July 27, 2009
University of Illinois physics professor Alan M. Nathan swings at that and more: PitchFX, wood v. aluminium bats, ...
Also, click Professor Nathan's name to go to his website for more of his research on the physics of baseball.
My interview with Professor Nathan was not meant to be exhaustive but it contains information that should be of interest to those concerned about the subject of my previous post on new Hall of Fame candidates, especially Barry Bonds.
Whatever Bonds was taking his achievement of hitting 73 home runs in 476 at bats while accepting 177 walks is amazing and deserves more than mere dismissal and derision.
Stimulating, provocative, sometimes whimsical new concepts that challenge traditional baseball orthodoxy. Note: Anonymous comments will not be published. Copyright Kenneth Matinale
