Babe Ruth would, of course, have the most since he hit at least 50 home runs four times, all with the Yankees. Mickey Mantle did it twice.
No Brooklyn Dodger ever hit 50 home runs. Here are the New York players to hit 50:
Number of home runs at least number 50 hit at home:
Babe Ruth: 20, none in 1928 when he hit 54; all eleven in 1927 in Yankee Stadium, the rest in the Polo Grounds
Johnny Mize: 2, both in the Polo Grounds
Willie Mays: 0; neither 50 nor 51 in Ebbets Field either
Mickey Mantle: 5
Roger Maris: 7
Alex Rodriguez: 0
Aaron Judge: 3
Pete Alonso: 3
Note that Ruth was playing center field in 1920 and left field in 1921 when the Yankees were still playing their home games in the Polo Grounds, owned by the New York Giants. Judge hit the only one of these home runs as a designated hitter (DH), his last #52. Maris was in center field when he hit 60 and 61 because Mantle was out of the lineup.
Mantle and Maris had 11 Yankee Stadium home runs in 1961 at least number 50 and only one base runner: on first for Maris #53. Judge had zero base runners for his three home runs.
