Yankee batters tie team Strike Out record: 18 in 9 innings; FIVE by Anthony Rizzo, also a Yankee record.

First the team games, then individuals: Does Anthony Rizzo have the Yankee record alone?

For single games, from 1901 to 2023, Only 9-inning games or shortened, For NYY, in the regular season, requiring Strikeouts >= 17, sorted by descending Strikeouts.

Last night the Yankees tied the team record of 18 Strike Outs (SO) by Yankee batters. In five other nine inning games, Yankee batters had 17 SO. Of the seven games, only one was in the previous millennium.

Former Cub Anthony Rizzo SO in all five Plate Appearances (PA). Next were Bauers and Stanton with three SO each. Nine Yankees batted and only Bader had 0 SO: 2 for 3 and Sacrifice Fly (SF).

Baltimore scored 7 runs in the bottom of the first, so the game was never really competitive.

The Yankees had 40 PA, 36 AB, not counting Bader's SF. Zero Caught Stealing (CS) and zero Ground Into Double Play (GIDP). So, no outs on the bases.
