Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez are playing in minor league games instead of in the Major Baseball League (MBL). Their ages: Jeter 39, Rodriguez 38 in 17 days. Both will both be elected to the Hall of Fame. Both are returning from serious injuries. Both are at the end of their careers.
Their Yankee team is fading because it cannot score enough runs.
What the heck are they doing in the minors?
Jeter in AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre: one single in six at bats, four walks, in three games.
Rodriguez in A+ Tampa: one single in nine at bats, in three games.
Neither is hitting down there. Maybe they're not ready. Maybe they have nothing left. But the Yankees are six games back. Bring both of them the heck up. Now!
Let the Yankees rise or fall with their best players. Bring up the captain and A-Rod!
Jeter! Jeter! Jeter!
A-Rod! A-Rod! A-Rod!
