Chris Davis needs to share his insight on the season home run (HR) record of his current team: the Baltimore Orioles, formerly the St. Louis Browns as I'm sure Davis could tell you.

Chris Davis, let's see you beat The Babe.
Davis had stated clearly that he considered the single season HR record to be the 61 hit by Yankee Roger Maris in 1961 ... His point is that he wants to break the non performance enhancing drugs (PED) record, not the 73 HR hit by Barry Bonds in 2001.

Most Oriole HR:
Brady Anderson 50 in 1996; second most 24 in 1999
Frank Robinson 49 in 1966; second most 39 in 1962 with Cincinnati
Chris Davis 47 in 2013; second most 33 in 2012
Anderson has long been suspected of having used performance enhancing drugs (PED). Shouldn't Davis take a position on this?
Oriole league HR leaders:
Eddie Murray 22 in 1981; tied with three others; short season due to labor dispute
Frank Robinson 49 in 1966
It's a short list. Anderson finished second to Mark McGwire (52) in 1996. Davis currently leads Miguel Cabrera 47 to 43. It does not appear that any member of the St. Louis Browns ever led in HR.
So, Chris Davis, come on, man. Who's it going to be? Brady Anderson or Frank Robinson?
