Joe DiMaggio 1951 Spring Training in Phoenix, AZ
by Warner Pathe News (Prelinger Archives)
via Wikimedia Commons
Joe DiMaggio was 1947 AL MVP.  Jackie Robinson was 1947 NL Rookie of the Year.  Yanks beat the Dodgers in a seven game World Series.  Giant home run hitters: Mize 51, Marshall 36, Cooper 35.  Pee Wee Reese beat Phil Rizzuto.

Easy: Cooper, Mize, Reese, DiMaggio, Marshall, Branca.

2B: who cares?

3B: Who?

Picking a manager was difficult, especially since the Yankees managed by Harris won the 1947 WS, but Shotton was all city.
