Home Runs are up pretty much across the board. However, the New York Yankees, the team that traditionally has been synonymous with home runs, is down in 2016.
The two leading home run hitters from 2015 are way down. Here are at bats (AB) divided by Home Runs: (homer every nn AB); lower is better.
Alex Rodriguez:
2016: 8 HR in 186: 23
2015: 33 in 523: 16
Mark Teixeira:
2016: 7 in 218: 31
2015: 31 in 392: 12.6
Yankee team:
2016: 95 in 2,973: 32 - without Rodriguez and Teixeira: 32
2015: 212 in 5,567: 26 - without Rodriguez and Teixeira: 31
The Yankees need both Rodriguez and Teixeira to hit a lot of home runs in the second half.
