Electric bat and dirty uniform: how Brian Cashman described his prize acquisition, Clint Frazier.

You can't make it up. And Yankee general manager Brian Cashman keeps adding to his collection.

Brian Cashman strikes out on Gleyber Torres in 2013, then trades Aroldis Chapman to make up for that failure. Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Bash Cash? What again? Cashman is the incompetent who keeps on giving...

Cashman said the Yankees coveted Torres three years ago, calling him the premier international free agent at the time. Cashman added that he was “disappointed we swung and missed; he was definitely a target for us.” ...

Had Cashman already signed Torres, then he could have traded Chapman for other "assets"

Yankees Trade Andrew Miller to the Indians

... traded to the Cleveland Indians for four minor leaguers, including outfielder Clint Frazier, the top-rated prospect in the Indians’ system...

... Frazier, a 2013 first-round draft pick ...

Cashman described Frazier ... an electric bat and great energy who “shows up at the national anthem in a dirty uniform.”

Yankees pitcher Chad Green faced Frazier in the Class A Midwest League in 2014, a season in which Frazier struck out in more than a third of his at-bats. Green described him as overmatched at the time

Maybe Clint Frazier is a great acquisition. Who knows? The guy has only 21 AAA plate appearances. What's the degree of confidence that Frazier will be an impact player for the Yankees? Impossible to say based on Cashman's silly description.

So, why would Cashman specify those attributes?

1. Cashman is stupid.
2. Cashman thinks Hal Steinbrenner is stupid.
3. Cashman thinks Yankee fans are stupid.
4. Cashman thinks media people are stupid.
5. All of the above.
