In the 9th, in the 10th, in the 11th inning the pitchers simply turned their backs on the batter and walked away. The batters did the same. The umpires conspired by doing nothing to prevent this delay.
Pitchers, batters, umpires have no comprehension of the entertainment value of the game that they are supposedly trying to promote. Every nobody wastes time mindlessly.

Start Time: 10:07 p.m. ET
Attendance: 33,159
Venue: Angel Stadium of Anaheim
Game Duration: 4:14
Night Game, on grass
Angels 3, Yankees 2 in 11 innings
Four hours, fourteen minutes. FOUR HOURS to score five runs. Note the start time in New York for Yankee fans. The game ended at 2:21 AM on the east coast. Did any Yankee fan younger than 50 stay up and watch this? I recorded and finally watched two days later, giving it the attention it deserved.
And what about fans who prefer to stay up late rather than record? What could possibly be entertaining about a ballgame with no pace, no concern for the audience?
Stimulating, provocative, sometimes whimsical new concepts that challenge traditional baseball orthodoxy. Note: Anonymous comments will not be published. Copyright Kenneth Matinale
