Yankees in 2017 tournament:
home: 6-0
road: 1-6
It's difficult to imagine how a team can win rounds much less the entire tournament with only one win on the road. In theory, if a team has home field advantage throughout, it could happen. As happened in the seven game series just completed, both the New York Yankees and Houston Astros "held serve", to borrow the tennis expression, and won all their home games. Houston 4-3.
The Yankees record by round:
wild card: 1-0
two: 3-2
three: 3-4
That fatal game seven in Houston when the Yankees did as they had with just one exception in 2017: lost on the road.
Stimulating, provocative, sometimes whimsical new concepts that challenge traditional baseball orthodoxy. Note: Anonymous comments will not be published. Copyright Kenneth Matinale
