Dodgers - Yankees might have had some resonance with other fans, connecting to a golden age in the 1950s. Well it was golden in New York where the Dodgers still played in Brooklyn through 1957.
Do Cubs fans care? Doubtful? And Cubs won just last year for the first time in a century.
Baseball is different. We need a rooting interest, especially with the games dragging on interminably. Even for game seven yesterday, I recorded and then started watching about 90 minutes after the start of the game, fast forwarding between each pitch to simulate an actual baseball game. You'd be surprised how quickly you catch up to real time.
NFL games the rest of today. Thank goodness.
