Shohei Ohtani over/under: 100 innings, 50 PA in major league in 2018?

Shohei Ohtani, after the latest media nonsense, brought this to mind. In 2018 not only is he unlikely to bat much but he may not even pitch much.

Ohtani is coming off a season of injury in 2017, which limited him to 25 innings pitched (IP). Any such 23 year old USA pitcher would be handled carefully in 2018. Ohtani IP in Japan at these ages:

18 - 61

19 - 155

20 - 160

21 - 140

22 - 25.

So even if he is competent here in the U.S. major league, Ohtani may start 2018 in a minor league and/or have his IP limited and be shut down in August.

Over/Under in the major league in 2018:

- 100 innings pitched (IP)

- 50 plate appearances (PA), NOT including as a starting pitcher in NL park.

I'd go under on both.
