Trevor Bauer was pulled April 4, 2019 after 7 innings and 117 pitches, a high number of pitches by current thinking. The second relief pitcher allowed hits.

Then on May 7, 2019 pitching for Oakland Mike Fiers was allowed to throw 131 pitches in the second no hitter of his career. His first no-hitter was August 21, 2015 for the Astros; Fiers threw 134 pitches.

In his next 2019 start Fiers went 5 innings and allowed hits, so he did not pitch consecutive no-hitters. In his next 2015 start Fiers went 6 innings and allowed 3 hits.

Among the pitchers listed above Hall of Famer Whitey Ford was lifted for pinch hitter Phil Linz in a tie game. In 1955 Ford pitched consecutive one hitters. Some other of the pitchers above were removed because their team was not leading; example Don Wilson, Damian Moss.

Kevin Slowey was removed after 7 no hit innings leading 4-0; he threw 106 pitches.

Braves PH for Aaron Harang leading 4-0; he threw 121 pitches in 7 no hit innings. The Cardinals PH for Daniel Ponce de Leon after 7 no hit innings and 116 pitches leading 1-0.

Ross Stripling was removed with one out in the 8th leading 2-1 after 100 pitches and no hits.

Leading 5-0 Adam Conley was removed with two out in the 8th and a runner on first after 116 pitches.

Rich Hill was removed after 7 no hit innings and only 89 pitches leading 5-0.

Wei-Yin Chen was removed after 7 no hit innings and only 100 pitches leading 4-0.

Both Andy Hawkins and Matt Young threw 8 no hit innings on the road and lost and did not pitch the bottom of the 9th inning.

Max Scherzer almost ties Johnny Vander Meer's consecutive no-hitters. Saturday, June 20, 2015
