Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: 2021 AL MVP? Because he may achieve the triple crown, which seems unlikely?

Would Triple Crown = MVP for Vlad Jr.? September 18th, 2021 mlb.com/news

Too long and repetitive but you might want to cruise through. Lots of droning on and self contradiction. Oh, the triple crown doesn't matter! Yeah, right.

They should check Babe Ruth 1919. He set the season home run record and threw 133 innings. I'll compare to Shohei Ohtani in a post after Ohtani's next pitching start. Ruth played the field. Last I saw Ohtani had 8 innings in the outfield.

The batting triple crown is leading your league in one season in Batting Average, Home Runs, and Runs Batted In. One average and two totals. Charming.

Obviously, there's a pretty high correlation between Home Runs and RBI. That's been done often. So, the difficulty is leading in Home Runs and BA.

Batting Average
1.Guerrero • TOR.321
2.Gurriel • HOU.319
3.Turner • 2TM.318
4.Soto • WSN.316
5.Brantley • HOU.315
6.Marte • 2TM.313
7.Harper • PHI.313
8.Castellanos • CIN.309
9.Frazier • 2TM.307
10.Winker • CIN.305

Turner is in the NL but Gurriel, Soto and Brantly are within six BA points.

Home Runs
1.Guerrero • TOR46
Perez • KCR46
3.Ohtani • LAA45
4.Semien • TOR41
5.Tatis • SDP39
6.Gallo • 2TM38
7.Olson • OAK37
Duvall • 2TM37
9.Judge • NYY36
10.Ramirez • CLE35

Unlikely but even teammate Marcus Semien could pass him in Home Runs. Of the three stats, Guerrero Jr. is most likely to lead in Home Runs, which is helpful in getting MVP votes.

Runs Batted In
1.Perez • KCR115
2.Abreu • CHW113
3.Hernandez • TOR108
4.Duvall • 2TM107
5.Guerrero • TOR105
Devers • BOS105
7.Olson • OAK104
8.Arenado • STL101
9.Meadows • TBR100
10.Seager • SEA99

Most unlikely would be Guerrero Jr. not only coming from 10 RBI back but passing Perez, Abreu and Hernandez AND holding off Devers and Olson.

So, without the triple crown, why would anyone vote for Guerrero Jr. over Shohei Ohtani, who also pitches, or even Junior's teammate Marcus Semien, a shortstop playing second base in 2021?
