Batting Average (BA): champs home runs and home run rates percent above league.

For batters who qualified according to silly rules for leading the league in BA 1903-2019 in the American League (AL) and National League (NL) and led the league, i.e., BA champs. This post looks at how they did in home runs.

Home Run rate is At Bats (AB)/HR; lower is better.

Most Home Runs AL sorted by HR, HRrate%aboveL.

Mickey Mantle is the leader with 52 Home Runs, homering every 10.25 AB.

You can't make up stuff like this. And remember, Plate Appearances (PA) is not the denominator in Batting Average (BA): Hits/AB. Nor in SLG; it's AB there, too. PA is the denominator in On Base Percentage (OBP), which is an average, not a percent. Sit down before you start reading this.
