TWO Super Leagues?

I received an interesting private comment on yesterday's post:

Are Major League Baseball teams in minor league cities preventing baseball? And what about my 2009 idea of a Super League? Saturday, March 5, 2022

Super League Sunday, March 29, 2009

Not quoted yesterday but in that 2009 post:

Ten teams would do  it.  Here are my suggestions:

New York Yankees
New York Mets
Chicago White Sox
Chicago Cubs
Los Angeles Dodgers
Philadelphia Phillies
Boston Red Sox
Detroit Tigers
Cleveland Indians
St. Louis Cardinals

Five from each of the two current MLB leagues.  All but the Mets are traditional teams that existed long before modern expansion began in 1961.

But Artie Goodman sent me this:

ASL and NSL

Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Toronto, White Sox, Astros, Orioles, Tigers.

Dodgers, Giants, Mets, Phillies, Cubs, Cards,
Braves, Reds.

Two Super Leagues, each with eight teams. I'm OK with the idea but:

Toronto? Orioles? I'd include Washington instead of the Baltimore Orioles. The Senators played in the American League through 1960. And Washington is no longer first in war, first in peace and last in the American League as the saying went.

And you've got to have the Cleveland baseball team.
