SEVEN Strike Outs (SO) in all seven Plate Appearances (PA) in the 2022 tournament ... so far!
Hal Steinbrenner, clean house! Fire Cashman and Boone, if Yanks lose to Houston ... again. Thursday, October 20, 2022
Matt Carpenter has
Struck Out
Struck Out
Struck Out
Struck Out
Struck Out
Struck Out.
No joke. This guy struck out all six times he's batted in the 2022 tournament so far, including in last night's first ALCS game between the New York Yankees and Astros in Houston: October 19, 2022.
I don't blame Carpenter. He should not have been on the roster in the previous series ...
Carpenter had 154 Plate Appearances (PA) for the Yankees with an OPS+ 217 (including 15 Home Runs) ... However, Carpenter played May 26 through August 8, 2022 when he was seriously injured in the third inning. The next time Carpenter played was in the tournament October 14, 2022.
I doubt that Carpenter practiced against much, if any, live pitching...
At lunch yesterday I told a friend ...:
Carpenter was not prepared and should not play.

Carpenter struck out in all four PA in that game. Then, ...
In the afternoon and prior to last night's game two between the Yankees and Astros in Houston, Yankee manager Aaron Boone scoffed at a question from Yankee play by play announcer Michael Kay about why Boone was using Carpenter. "You're unbelievable" said Boone with dismissive contempt. So, what happened in game two?
9th inning, Astros 3, Yankees 2 Ryan Pressly replaces Bryan Abreu pitching:
Rizzo Strikeout Swinging
Torres Strikeout Swinging
Donaldson Walk
Matt Carpenter pinch hits for Kyle Higashioka (C) batting 7th
Carpenter Strikeout Swinging
Astros win and lead the seven game series 2-0.
What the heck?
