Age 32 Home Runs: Alex Rodriguez 553 ... Aaron Judge 261.

Aaron Judge turned 32 April 26, 2024. To qualify for leading a league in an average stat like Batting Average a modern player must have at least 502 Plate Appearances (PA). Judge has had only three such seasons. He has a fourth that is close with 498.

Judge has hit 261 Home Runs on 3,102 At Bats (AB) prior to his birthday game last night.

Through age 32 season, 32 players have hit at least 350 Home Runs. Alex Rodriguez leads with the astonishing total of 553 HR on 7,860 AB (also the most).

Babe Ruth is #10 with 416 HR on 4,959 AB. The Babe was mostly a pitcher in his early years with the Red Sox when he hit 49 HR. So his Yankee HR through age 32: 416 - 49 = 367.

Even for Yankee only HR, Aaron Judge is only #6 so far in his age 32 season. Among the top 32 are these players who hit all their career HR for the Yankees:

5. Mickey Mantle 454

20. Lou Gehrig 378.

Willie Mays missed almost two full seasons for ages 21 and 22 but he's still tied for #13.

At least 7,000 AB:

Fewer than 5,000 AB:

Ruth 416

McCovey 352

Sorted on OPS+ A-Rod drops to #20 with 147. 15 have OPS+ at least 150 led by Babe Ruth's 214.

#4 in OPS+ Mike Trout is the only one among the 32 who is still in age 32 season. Trout will become 33 August 7, 2024. Giancarlo Stanton, 34, is the only other active player.

Eleven players started as teenagers. Ott and Foxx were the youngest: 17. Aaron Judge didn't start playing MLB until age 24 and then only 27 games and 95 PA.
