Home Runs (min 25) greater than Strike Outs. Inspired by Joe DiMaggio.

Had he not played that one more season (1951), perhaps at the urging of fellow San Franciscan and teammate Billy Martin, Joe DiMaggio would still have finished #5 (his uniform number) in career Home Runs (HR) but with more HR than Strike Outs (SO).

For combined seasons, up to 1950, Playing in the AL or NL, in the regular season, requiring Home Runs >= 345, sorted by descending Home Runs.

DiMaggio would have had 16 more HR than SO. In 1951 he uncharacteristically had 12 HR and 36 SO (-24).

His BA and OPS+ would have been higher too.

For perspective:

200 Strike Outs ... by batters:

For single seasons, since 1903, Playing in the AL or NL, in the regular season, requiring Strikeouts >= 200 sorted by descending Home Runs.
