Ohtani in 2024: SO to BB ratio 2 to 1. Reverse: DiMaggio in 1941: 5.84 BB for each SO.

How could Shohei Ohtani have twice as many Strike Outs (SO) as Bases on Balls (BB)?

SO: 162, BB: 81

And still have:

OPS+: Ohtani NL leading 190

What about the reverse? Way more BB than SO? Obviously, Barry Bonds had a ratio in one season of FIVE times as many BB as SO. Most of these are at least twice as many BB as SO:

Bonds in 2004 5.67 BB for each SO.

1941 American League:

Joe DiMaggio hit in 56 consecutive games

Ted Williams BA: .406

BB/SO:

DiMaggio: 76/13=5.84

Williams: 147/27=5.44

Neither BB nor SO are entertaining.
