Melky Cabrera: should his stats be purged and his team's wins vacated?
Melky Cabrera was suspended 50 games by the Major Baseball League (MBL) ...
What about the record of Melky's team? Without Melky the Giants would probably have won fewer games. Shouldn't the Giants wins with Melky playing be vacated the way the NCAA does with rules violations in football? And shouldn't the Giants be banned from the MBL tournament for a couple of seasons?

Melky's team won the 2012 tournament. Should that championship be vacated retroactively?

Weasels on parade: Pedroia, Scherzer, Longoria, maybe more.
Dustin Pedroia, Max Scherzer, Evan Longoria all ran their mouths immediately about the suspensions of fellow players for using steroids etc.

Rodriguez Offers Support, but Finds Little in Return
By TYLER KEPNER
Published: August 16, 2013 The New York Times
Rodriguez doubled off (Brad) Lidge to drive in the go-ahead run in the pivotal Game 4 of the 2009 World Series.
“If what seems to be true is true, then how can you not be upset about that?” Lidge told MLB Network Radio on Friday. “He had the big hit against me that scored Damon, and they ended up getting the win that game. So, yeah, I’m really upset about it when I look back.”

What, A-Rod needed steroids to hit a double? Not a 450 foot home run. A double. Lidge is whining about that? Lidge is the guy who gave up that monster home run in the 9th inning to Albert Pujols to blow the save and game five of the 2005 National Conference final in Houston. That's the hit that should have humiliated Lidge. I guess that Lidge knows for sure that Pujols was not using PED then and that his listed age is correct. Whiner...
I forgot to mention former Red Sox player Manny Ramirez, the only great player prior to Ryan Braun who recently copped a plea, to actually serve a suspension. Ramirez was instrumental in the Red Sox winning the MBL tournament in 2004 and 2007. Along with (David) Ortiz.
My interpretation of The Times would have all the current Red Sox added to the list of weasels, including those named specifically: John Lackey, Jonny Gomes, Jon Lester.

Brad Lidge seems to want the 2009 Yankee championship vacated. Fine. As a Yankee fan I say: fine. Let's vacate championships that had players who used PED. So the Yankees lose 2009. Then obviously the Red Sox lose 2004 and 2007. That drops them back to 1918 for their most recent championship when their best player was Babe Ruth. I can hear the Yankee Stadium chants now:
1918
1918
1918
Ah, it's music to my ears.
But wait there's more. The Yankees pick up a championship. The winning hit in game seven 2001 off Mariano Rivera was by Luis Gonzales who inexplicably hit 57 HR that season; second highest HR: 31 in 2000.
Brad Lidge was with the Phillies when they won the championship in 2008. Ryan Howard hit 48 HR in 2008, 58 in 2006. Then when testing became more serious Howard fell off a HR cliff: 31, 33, 14, 11. Bye bye, Phillies 2008 championship.
Finally, what about the 2013 tournament? The Yankees are OK since Alex Rodriguez has not been declared guilty by the arbitrator ... yet. But what about Detroit and Texas? The two best players among the dirty dozen to cop pleas were Tiger SS Jhonny Peralta and Ranger OF Nelson Cruz. Cleveland has been losing to Detroit but maybe the Indians should not be concerned. Same with Oakland. Not if Detroit and Texas are banned from the tournament.
What if Major Baseball League (MBL) commissioner Allen Huber "Bud" Selig comes back from the grave and actually takes effective action on his self proclaimed problem of PED? Vacating wins and past championships would go a long way towards real action. And along with that would be to deny the penalized teams a share of tournament revenue.
