Cumulative hitting stats through age 32.

My favorite player, Mickey Mantle, peaked at age 32 in 1964.  I wanted to see how he compared with others at the same age so I used the baseball-reference.com "play index" function to produce this table.  My comments are below.

Mantle's OPS+ peaked in 1964 at 177 (age 32).  Bonds had OPS+ of 162 in 1997 at age 32.  Bonds peaked at 183 in 2004 and 2005, ages 39, 40.  Bonds finished in 2007 at 182, age 42.

Both Mantle and Bonds finished with BA .298, Mantle at age 36.  Mantle's BA peaked at age 25 in 1957: .316.  Bonds peaked at .300 ages 39,40.  Bonds at age 25: .265.  Bonds at age 32: .288.
