Cashman traded Solarte for Headley, ignoring Donaldson.

Not only have main stream media people ignored the first part but the second part never occurred to them in their defense of Yankee general manager Brian Cashman. The Yankees are currently buried in last place 9-17.

Solarte for Headley: why isn't Cashman critiqued for this trade? Sunday, March 27, 2016

Did I miss it? Or does Yankee GM Brian Cashman get no flack for this trade? ...

In their first full season after being traded and both playing third base, Solarte had more doubles, triples and home runs than Headley. OPS+:
Solarte 109
Headley 93

BA OBP SLG OPS:
Solarte .270 .320 .428 .748
Headley .259 .324 .369 .693

If you're into WAR:
Solarte 2.2
Headley 1.1

Obviously, Chase Headley was not better than Yangervis Solarte in 2015 and Headley certainly was not 25 times better as his salary would suggest.

Cashman traded a player almost three years younger who was paid about half a million dollars for a guy who was paid $13 million and whom Cashman signed through 2018 for $13 million per year.

Has anyone even suggested that Cashman made a mistake? A big mistake?

Donaldson was traded BEFORE Cashman signed Headley. Cashman could have acquired Donaldson instead. How much more clearly can it be stated? Trading Solarte for Headley was bad enough and signing Headley when he became a free agent was worse still but the worst thing was Cashman entirely missing the boat on Donaldson. Cashman wanted someone to play third and obviously took Headley over Donaldson. It's really obvious. How come Cashman isn't held accountable?

Since it's May 6 and Headley has zero extra base hits and was benched yesterday for a guy who has no credentials as a hitter Cashman is being scrutinized generally but not on this timeline.

How is this not gross incompetence by Cashman? And how is it not gross incompetence by the Steinbrenner Kids for not holding Cashman accountable? The main stream media is just plain incompetent.

Steinbrenner Kids failed and should sell the Yankees. Friday, April 22, 2016

I totally agree! Specially since that contract came in tjus new austerity yankees phasr. Worst than that is that cashman is very rarely accountable for his multiple mistakes. What about the albatros contract to ellsburr? Or why is rodriguez even playing for the yankkes? It seems to me that the yankees have literally bought the main stream media!
