Definitions:
Both: switch hitters
RR: bats right, throws right
RL: bats right, throws left
LR: bats left, throws right
LL: bats left, throws left
BR: bats both, throws right
BL: bats both, throws left

Min, Max, Ave are for all seasons shown in the graph: 1903-2012.  See previous post for percentages of at bats (AB) + Bases on Balls (BB), essentially plate appearances (PA) for each of the six categories.  RL and BL have the fewest PA; they also have the lowest BA: .208 and .224 respectively.  The strictly lefty batters have the highest BA.  Maybe because they stand closer to the bases and because over 70% of pitches are thrown by righties.  For 2012 the BA is about even for RR, LR, LL.
