Derek Jeter honored in Milwaukee by another druggie, Ryan Braun.

You can't make this up.  While suspended teammate Alex Rodriguez sits out the 2014 season Derek Jeter is on his farewell tour and has now been honored in at least two cities by druggies.  Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte from opening day:

Today before the fourth and final game against the Brewers (Gee, where does that name come from?) two Brewers were sent out to embrace Jeter during a brief ceremony: Ryan Braun and Carlos Gomez.

Braun was suspended for the final 65 games of the 2013 season for being implicated in the Florida clinic scandal over performance enhancing drugs (PED), presumably including steroids.  Braun was injured, so his suspension was largely a tactical decision to get the incident over with.  He had been implicated in his 2011 MVP season also but escaped punishment over a technicality.

Gomez made peace with new Yankee catcher Brian McCann before game one Thursday.  Their 2013 confrontation was visited in this post:

In game three Gomez led off with a long home run off CC Sabathia.  Gomez mocked McCann in a way that McCann could not protest.  Gomez raced around the bases.  I would have loved it if Gomez had completed his mock by sliding into home.

Major Baseball League (MBL) commissioner Allen Huber "Bud" Selig made a fortune as dual owner of the Brewers and commissioner during the steroid era.  Now his outgoing golden boy is being honored by players who violated Selig's drug policy.  Hypocrisy doesn't get much thicker than this.
