New commissioner Rob Manfred shares qualities with his predecessor and mentor Allan Huber "Bud" Selig: take a long time to do too little too late. They both have an old fart mentality and therefor they both suck...
Manfred should be embarrassed by:
- different rule in the two conferences: designated hitter (DH)
- All Star game determining home field determining home field AND home rule (DH) advantage in a possible game seven of the tournament finals.
Unfortunately, Manfred is not embarrassed. It's doubtful that Manfred will stray from Selig policy while the old man is hovering around for an indeterminate time.

Maybe Rob Manfred was nervous doing his first interview as commissioner of the Major Baseball League ...
Manfred appears intent on not making Selig look like a complete incompetent...
Maybe Manfred was just trying to seem Bud like and not merely Bud Light...
Why would Manfred blunder so badly so soon if he weren't as inept as Selig? ...
With his early start on abysmally bad ideas, Manfred has a chance, despite his education and obvious intelligence, to be an even worse commissioner than Selig, as unimaginable as that may seem.
Commissioner Manfred, how about some Radical Baseball?

Commissioner too little, too late, if at all: loved by all working for him on his TV network. Wednesday, January 28, 2015
Rob Manfred must be the greatest commissioner since Allan Huber "Bud" Selig, his immediate predecessor who bequeathed his job to Manfred, the A-Rod slayer.
All I hear on the Manfred MLB Network, which Manfred runs at least indirectly, is that even when Manfred says something stupid like being open to banning the extreme fielding shift that his minions zero in on the open word and praise Manfred for being ... open. They then make sure that this is not interpreted as an indication that Selig was closed minded. The sucking up is so obvious...
The other thing his employees love about Manfred is that he wants to use technology to entice young people into playing and/or liking baseball. That ship sailed long ago. There are multiple lost generations who have no firm connection to baseball.

Rob "Bud Light" Manfred inspires timid, unimaginative ideas, continuing the Bud Selig Dark Ages. Friday, January 30, 2015
In his first few days as commissioner the most positive reaction that Rob Manfred has inspired is that he is open to this or that idea, which is just weasel talk for "I'm not quite as dumb and lazy as my predecessor, Allan Huber "Bud" Selig"...
Manfred, the A-Rod slayer, is comfortable with the two conferences having a different rule ,designated hitter (DH), and with the All Star game determining the home field/rule advantage in a possible game 7 of the tournament finals. That level of thought pretty much tells all you need to know about "Bud Light".

Three time outs: simple solution to many problems. Sunday, February 1, 2015
Let's see if new commissioner Rob "Bud Light" Manfred, the A-Rod slayer, is willing to consider this. If Manfred acts now, he can have this set for opening day in early April. Teams will have all of the overlong spring training to get oriented.
