All four Yankee infielders are below average batters among their peers.

A few years ago the Yankees had the best hitting infield of all time: Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez.

How bad is Mark Teixeira batting in 2016? Monday, May 23, 2016

Dead last among 24 first basemen who qualify for leading in average stats after about 25% of the 2016 season based on OPS+.

Both Mark Teixeira and third baseman Chase Headley are last in OPS+ among their fielding peers.

DiDi Gregorious is 19 of 27 shortstops with OPS+ 78.

But wait, you say. Starlin Castro can't possibly be below average among second baseman. Castro must be among the best of those batters.

Castro is 15 of 20: OPS+ 103. See for yourself and note former New York second basemen 2. Daniel Murphy (Mets) and 4. Robinson Cano (Yankees) and also the player nine years older than Castro who replaced him on the Cubs: 3. Ben Zobrist:
