With Aaron Judge Yankees have FIVE players with 50 homers in NINE seasons, both records.

Aaron Judge hit two home runs this afternoon after hitting two yesterday. Judge now has 50 HR in 2017 and I think that will clinch the MVP award for Judge, despite his long slump in July and August.

Yankees with at least 50 HR in a season:
Babe Ruth 1920 54
Babe Ruth 1921 59
Babe Ruth 1927 60
Babe Ruth 1928 54

Mickey Mantle 1956 52
Mickey Mantle 1961 54

Roger Maris 1961 61

Alex Rodriguez 2007 54

Aaron Judge 2017 50 ... and counting

The Giants have the second most players with at least 50 - three:
Johnny Mize
Willie Mays 2
Barry Bonds (73 HR)

The Cubs have the second most 50 homer seasons to the Yankees. Cubs - 5:
Hack Wilson
Sammy Sosa 4

The Yankees also have the most players with at least 60 - 2: Ruth and Maris. However, the Cubs have the most 60 homer seasons, 3, all by Sammy Sosa. Mark McGwire hit 70 and 65 for the Cardinals.

Teams with two 50 HR seasons:
Athletics: Jimmie Foxx, Mark McGwire
Cardinals: Mark McGwire 2
Pirates: Ralph Kiner 2
Mariners: Ken Griffey 2
Red Sox: Jimmie Foxx, David Ortiz
Orioles: Brady Anderson, Chris Davis
Indians: Albert Belle, Jim Thome
Tigers: Hank Greenberg, Cecil Fielder
Rangers: Alex Rodriguez 2

Foxx, McGwire and Rodriguez (Rangers and Yankees) each did it for two teams. McGwire also hit 58 playing for two teams in one season: 1997: Athletics and Cardinals.
