Bronx cheer (booing) for Ohtani? Stiffed and stiffing Yankees and their fans.

Plus, Shohei Ohtani was scheduled to pitch in game three of the series that starts tonight in Yankee Stadium and face fellow countryman Masahiro Tanaka Sunday afternoon. However, yesterday the Angels announced that Ohtani would get more rest before pitching again, meaning that Ohtani will again not pitch against the Yankees this season, since this is the second and final series between the teams since Ohtani chose the Angels over the Yankees, even though the Yankees put a lot of time and effort into trying to convince Ohtani to sign with the Yankees as a free agent for the 2018 season. Ultimately, Ohtani stated that he wanted to play for a west coast team in the USA.

Ohtani has yet to play in cold weather or east of the Mississippi. Friday, April 27, 2018

It's supposed to rain the next two days in New York so maybe Ohtani will be sent back to California to protect him.

Ohtani just "played" (DH) three games in Toronto, which has a retractable roof. I don't think that counts as crossing the Mississippi River in the USA. His exposure to major league cities is very limited.

The Angels are on a three city road trip: Toronto, New York, Detroit. They don't play in Boston against the Red Sox until June 26, 27, 28.

Yankee fans will probably give Ohtani some good natured booing. If Ohtani sits Sunday when Tanaka pitches for the Yankees, we may hear taunting, rhythmic calls from the Yankee Stadium grandstand:

Where's Ohtani? (clap, clap ... clap, clap, clap)
Where's Ohtani? (clap, clap ... clap, clap, clap)
Where's Ohtani? (clap, clap ... clap, clap, clap).
