Most team home runs since 1961 (all AL; DH in AL since 1973):
In 1961 the Yankees in the new 162 game schedule broke the team record of 227 set in 1947 by the New York Giants in 154 games. Roger Maris (61) and Mickey Mantle (54) led the 1961 Yankees.
The 1997 Seattle Mariners hold the team record led by Ken Griffey (56) and Jay Buhner (40).
2017 had the most total home runs. The Yankees hit the most home runs in 2017 and currently lead in 2018.
The current home run rate of the 2018 Yankees is significantly better than that of the record holding 1997 Mariners. The 2018 Yankees have two players who hit more than 50 homers in 2017:
Giancarlo Stanton 59
Aaron Judge 52
Oh, and the baseball is really juiced.

The previous record before the 61 Yanks was 221 by the 1947 Giants and tied by the 1956 Reds.
If you remove the 441 AB's the pitchers had they homered every 21.32 trips to the plate. This is even more impressive considering that Richardson, Kubek, Lopez and Gardner hit 15 home runs between them while burning up 1621 at bats. Take them out of the mix and the team homered ever 15.5 at bats.
