Yankees should trade Gary Sanchez for Jacob deGrom.

And do it quickly before the Mets see a replay of the the Yankees 7-6 loss in Tampa which ended when 25 year old Yankee catcher Gary Sanchez did not run out his grounder for the final out with the bases loaded.

Earlier Sanchez committed a passed ball with a runner on second and failed to hustle after it allowing the runner to score.

Met ace Jacob deGrom, who turned 30 in June, pitched well again in a 3-2 loss to San Diego. deGrom can be a free agent for the 2021 season. deGrom leads the National League in ERA (1.71) and ERA+ (222).

The Mets would make this trade. The Yankees should. The Yankees won't miss Sanchez in his diminished and dysfunctional capacity. Adding deGrom to the Yankee starting rotation would be the kind of boost that Yankee general manager Brian Cashman has failed to do.
