Yankee home runs by position and batting order 2018 and 1961.

The 2018 Yankees have set a new record for most home runs in a season by a team: 267, including today's final game. There's been stuff about the 2018 Yankees having at least 20 home runs at each batting order position. They also need only one more home run by a LF to have at least 20 at each fielding position, excluding pitching:

The 1961 Yankees set a new record for most home runs in a season by a team: 240. They were led by:
Roger Maris 61; mostly RF and mostly batting 3rd
Mickey Mantle 54; only CF; only batting 4th in games started; PH 3.

But primarily because of injuries to Mantle early and late in 1961, Maris sometimes moved from RF to CF:

Batting order position:
3rd 60:
Maris 57
Bob Cerv 1 in 9 AB
Johnny Blanchard 1 in 13 AB
Yogi Berra 1 in 22 AB

4th 57:
Mantle 54
Maris 2 in 10 AB
Berra 1 in 26 AB

Maris hit 60 and 61 playing CF. Maris hit three HR in games in which he played only CF:
Oct. 1 #61; Yogi Berra was on deck, not Mantle; after Maris homered in the 4th and Berra batted, Hector Lopez replaced Berra in LF and batted behind Maris the rest of the game.
Sept. 20 #59
May 24 #8 off Gene Conley, also an NBA player.
Sept. 26 #60; Mantle walked in the first inning and Hector Lopez pinch ran for him. Maris moved from RF to CF after left the game and homered in the third with Lopez on deck, not Mantle..
May 28 Maris hit #9 in second inning playing CF. Late in game Jack Reed entered to play CF and Maris moved to RF.
Maris added 5 to Mantle's 54 in CF.
