This group has only three big time home run hitters: Ruth, Jackson, Pujols. All have surprisingly few three homer games in the regular season. Ruth had the same number of three homer games in the World Series as he had in the regular season: two. Amazing. Perhaps even more amazing is that Ruth hit three in only one regular season Yankee game: Wednesday, May 21, 1930 - first game of a doubleheader; Yankee teammate Lou Gehrig hit three in game two of a doubleheader the next day. Ruth's other such game was in Pittsburgh playing in his final season, his only season for the Boston Braves: Saturday, May 25, 1935. They were career home runs 712, 713, 714.

Among the other seven, four of them have zero three homer games in the regular season. Two had fewer than ten home runs in regular season preceding their three homer post season game. Two had fewer than 100 career home runs. Five (half) had fewer than 150.

Ruth, Jackson and Brett are in the Hall of Fame. Pujols will be.
