The Atlanta Braves announce that they will not change their team name.
Political pressure against the state of Georgia (Atlanta is in Georgia) over its new voter laws leads to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred punishing the Braves, the city of Atlanta (51% black) and the state of Georgia by moving the 2021 MLB All Star game to Denver, Colorado (76% white). This costs Atlanta millions of dollars.
The 88 win Atlanta Braves defeat the 106 win Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS and the Braves will play the 95 win Houston Astros in the 2021 World Series starting in Houston, Texas tomorrow night.
