Brian Cashman, Yankee general manager, whining about Astros cheating ... in 2017: Cashman has one World Series win in 21 years. ONE.

Brian Cashman is a semi competent weasel and should resign as general manager of the New York Yankees.

Yankees’ Brian Cashman blames World Series drought on cheating Astros Updated: Mar. 31, 2022

... according to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, the Houston Astros are to blame for the current World Series drought.

“The only thing that stopped (us) was something that was so illegal and horrific,” Cashman told The Athletic.

Horrific? Sign stealing is horrific? Hyperbole or stupidity?

Cashman's perspective shows his ignorance.

If nothing else, the Yankees were zero for 2010-2016, seven years, after winning their last World Series in 2009! That followed zero for 2001-2008. And he's blaming the Astros since 2017? One for 2001-2021. Droughts of 8 and 12 years. And current. What a weasel. His most recent incompetence:

Yesterday the Yankees traded Gary Sanchez for Josh Donaldson...

Yankee general manager 1998-2017 Brian Cashman was named 2017 executive of the year by Baseball America. Cashman is looking for a third baseman ... again...

After the 2014 season Cashman was looking for a third baseman...

Cashman completely missed the boat on Donaldson, who was voted AL MVP in 2015, his first season in Toronto...

Donaldson was traded by Oakland to Toronto right under Cashman's nose.

Cashman was named 2017 executive of the year mainly because of two players:

Gary Sanchez, whom Cashman just traded.

Aaron Judge, whom Cashman passed on in the draft in favor of a guy who never played in MLB and last played in the minors in 2018. Judge was drafted later with the Yankees second pick.

And he's blaming the Astros? Even if the Yankees had scored more than three runs in the 2017 series against the Astros in the four games in Houston and advanced to the World Series, the Yankees would still have needed to win the World Series. Cashman cannot even reason that far ahead.

The home team won all seven games in the 2017 ALCS.

In games 1,2,6,7 in Houston the Yankees scored 1,1,1,0.

The Astros might have helped themselves scoring 2,2,7,4. In other words, not much. But their sign stealing did not prevent the Yankees from scoring.

Bottom line: act like a Yankee! Overcome. Win anyway.

Never make excuses. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER.
