Tony Lazzeri hit 60 Home Runs in 197 Pacific Coast League games in 1925.

1925 Salt Lake City Bees

Twenty-one year old Tony Lazzeri hit 60 Home Runs in 197 games. I don't know how many were hit in the team's first 154 games. Or first 162 for that matter.

Lefty O'Doul led the team with 309 hits. That's many more than the MLB record. O'Doul played 198 games. Lazzeri was second on the team with 252 hits, which was almost the MLB record of 257 at the time by George Sisler.

This post is for those who think that all seasons should be considered equal, regardless of the number of games.
