2024 4-1 Los Angeles Dodgers (98-64, NL) vs. New York Yankees (94-68, AL)
Let's juxtapose the 2024 Dodgers with the team on 1924, one hundred years ago. First some context, then some detail.
1920s World Series (8 of 10 had at least one New York team; 3 had two; consecutive: Giants 4, Yankees 3):
1929 4-1 Philadelphia Athletics (104-46, AL) vs. Chicago Cubs (98-54, NL)
1928 4-0 New York Yankees (101-53, AL) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (95-59, NL)
1927 4-0 New York Yankees (110-44, AL) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (94-60, NL)
1926 4-3 St. Louis Cardinals (89-65, NL) vs. New York Yankees (91-63, AL)
1925 4-3 Pittsburgh Pirates (95-58, NL) vs. Washington Nationals (96-55, AL)
1924 4-3 Washington Nationals (92-62, AL) vs. New York Giants (93-60, NL)
1923 4-2 New York Yankees (98-54, AL) vs. New York Giants (95-58, NL)
1922 4-0-1 New York Giants (93-61, NL) vs. New York Yankees (94-60, AL)
1921 5-3 New York Giants (94-59, NL) vs. New York Yankees (98-55, AL)
1920 5-2 Cleveland Indians (98-56, AL) vs. Brooklyn Robins (93-61, NL)
That 1920 team was known for its manager, Wilbert Robinson, who managed Brooklyn 1914-1931 and won the National League pennant twice: 1916 and 1920. After 1920, 1924 was the only season they finished higher than 4th. The team was known as Robins 1916-1931.
In this post, I will refer to them as Dodgers.

Shohei Ohtani stole more bases in 2024 than the entire 1924 team: 59 to 34. Ohtani was Caught Stealing (CS) only 4 times. 1924 Dodgers CS 46 times! Ohtani also hit NL leading 54 Home Runs. 1924 Dodgers hit 72 with Jack Fournier also leading the NL with 27 HR, half what Ohtani hit.
On the other hand, the 1924 Dodgers had only 357 SO (including the pitchers batting), 2024 had 1,336 SO with six having at least 100 SO. The top two in 2024 had almost as many SO as the entire 1924 team: T. Hernandez 188 + Ohtani 162 = 350. Hernandez was the only other 2024 Dodger with more HR than Fournier: 33.

Four of the 2024 Dodgers had higher SO9 (SO per 9 innings) than Vance.
Vance and Grimes combined for 50 Wins.
In 2024 Glasnow threw 12 Wild Pitches (WP) and Stone 9 + 21. Vance and Grimes combined for 9 WP in 619 Innings. The five 1924 pitchers had 13 WP. The 2024 pitchers must have been throwing too many Bugs Bunny pitches.
