MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, do it. Show some unexpected class and call this former nobody into your office and let him have it. Come on.
I am a Yankees fan. This morning I heard 67 year old Milwaukee Brewers manager (Pat Murphy, in case you still don't know his name.) celebrating on the field after Milwaukee defeated Tampa in the 2026 World Series as follows:

here's what Murphy told Bauers:
"You're going to be a rich f***er. Just remember when you're on that horses*** Yankees team (2023) and you're all playing for yourselves, just remember this is the way we used to do it."

Nice, uh? The language alone is cause for discipline. He knew he was on TV.
I have been calling for Yankee General Manager Brian Cashman to be fired for more than a decade. Here is a post with my basic reason:
Yankees payroll with Brian Cashman as general manager 2001-2025: highest in American League in 22 of 25 years. Friday, October 10, 2025
The Yankees won the World Series in 2000 and in 2009. So, once in the last 25 years, the worst stretch since 1920 when Babe Ruth joined the team.
Brian Cashman has been general manager since February 1998. He inherited a championship team that won the World Series in 1998, 1999 and 2000. But even the 2009 team had the core four, inherited by Cashman: Jeter, Posada, Pettitte and Rivera.
The Yankees led AL in payroll 2001-2025 every year except:
2016: 4th
2017: 3rd
2018: 4th

I have also been critical of ownership and called for them to sell the team. But suddenly a guy I could not have named yesterday has me really angry, not at the Yankees, but at him, his team owner and the commissioner.
And for some perspective on the Milwaukee accomplishment:
2026 World Series payrolls in millions: Milwaukee $146, Tampa $79. Thursday, October 22, 2026
Of the 30 MLB teams, here are the payroll ranks of the WS teams:
14 Milwaukee
24 Tampa.
Way to beat up a weak opponent. Tampa swept the Yankees. Yankees slugger Aaron Judge played only 66 regular season games (285 Plate Appearances) due to injuries that flared up at the end of the season and caused him to not play in any playoff games.
Maybe horseshit Pat Murphy was ignorant of that. Maybe Murphy thinks Judge is horseshit. He should enjoy his victory parade in ... Milwaukee.
*** The End ***
