The table in that 2017 post is superseded by the one below. It is sorted by Winning Percentage. Teams that existed before 1961 have their team name in bold. The top 8 of 30 and 12 of the top 14 are old traditional teams. Houston is the only expansion team with a Winning Percentage of 50% or above.
World Series and Pennant counts are 1961-2025. So the Yankees lose WS wins: 1923, 1927, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1943, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1958. They still have the most since 1961 despite only one 2001-2025 with Brian Cashman as General Manager.
The Texas Rangers started as the new Washington Senators in 1961 replacing the original Washington team that moved to Minneapolis to become the Minnesota Twins.
