Pretty basic, right? So, how much, if at all, will people, especially BORING media people, consider this? Rhetorical trick question.
This post merely highlights basic facts possibly overlooked in a previous post with a descriptive title but no bottom line conclusion.
Astros runs 2017 ALCS and 2019 WS. Sunday, December 29, 2019
Let's juxtapose two recent 7 game tournament series involving the Houston Astros, who had home field advantage in both: home in games 1,2,6,7. Both series have the ultimate extremes:
2017: home team wins all 7 games: Astros beat New York Yankees
2019: road team wins all 7 games: Washington Nationals beat Astros
In the 2017 ALCS against the Yankees the scoring pattern suggests that the Yankees scored much better at home. If anything, it would seem more likely that the Yankees were stealing the signs. The disparity in Yankee home/road scoring average is huge, 5.5 runs. The Astros averaged 2 more runs at home.

Here are the Yankee runs scored in Houston in the 2017 ALCS: 1,1,1,0. You do that in the regular season, you probably lose all four games, no matter the opponent. The Astros cheating had nothing to do with the Yankees inability to score. NOTHING. So, the Yankees should stop whining but they won't because their baseball operations are headed by an incompetent weasel: General Manager Brian Cashman.
There's every indication that the Yankees suspected that the Astros were cheating in 2017 but failed to protect themselves. And we know that the Yankees complained about the Red Sox doing the same type of cheating back then. Yankee manager: Joe Girardi.
In 2018 the Yankees failed to protect themselves against the Red Sox. Yankee manager: Aaron Boone.
There's every indication that the Yankees suspected that the Astros were still cheating in 2019 but failed to protect themselves. Yankee manager: Aaron Boone.
Common denominator: General Manager Brian Cashman.
Yankee fans should be upset at General Manager Brian Cashman. This entire issue is so dumb and yet Yankee General Manager Brian Cashman couldn't deal with it. The solution has been around for over 100 years: use complex signs that cannot be interpreted in time to alert the batter. Geez, come on.
And, how about NOT calling the damn pitches from the dugout! Everybody can see signals from the dugout.
Boone and/or Rothschild appear to give signs when Altuve homers to win 2019 pennant. Tuesday, November 19, 2019
Yankee catcher Gary Sanchez giving the signs to Yankee closer Aroldis Chapman ...
amateur video ... below shows Sanchez was looking into the Yankee dugout for each pitch to Altuve...
Sanchez ... seems to be looking 90 degrees to his left at Boone. No TV needed to see that. Boone conspicuously changes from one foot to the other and lowers his head. Was that the sign to Sanchez? Beats me but Sanchez is clearly getting the sign from the Yankee dugout and then passing it along to Chapman. The Astros and many people at the game could see this without any tech equipment.
