"500" home run hitters number of pitchers distribution.

29 hitters hit at least 493 home runs. That is the group below sorted by career home runs and last home run hit. The fields 1 through 18 contain the number of pitchers each hitter homered off that number of times. Willie Mays homered off one pitcher 18 times: Warren Spahn. Ruth and Aaron homered off one pitcher 17 times. Foxx homered off three pitchers 16 times each. And so forth. See previous post.

Below note the difference in the number of times each homered off a pitcher only once. Old timers did it much less frequently. Also note the total number of pitchers. Gehrig and McGriff each hit 493 home runs but Gehrig did off only 166 pitchers, McGriff off 350 pitchers. A matrix with these as percentages follows below.
