Aaron Judge peaked at age 30, his free agent year. Who else peaked so old?

In 2022 Aaron Judge at age 30 had personal best in every major positive stat except triples. Judge had no triples in 2022. Judge had his second most Strike Outs in 2022.

Born: April 261992 (Age: 30-187d) in Linden, CA

Judge was a star in his 52 Home Run age 25 rookie season of 2017 but nothing like his 2022 62 Home Run season.

Has any other significant player had by far his best season at age 30? How is that even possible?

Mickey Mantle had his breakout 1956 triple crown season at age 24.

Roger Maris broke the season Home Run record in 1961 at age 27Born: September 101934 in Hibbing, MN

Mike Trout was a star at age 21 in his first full season; tied for his highest WAR with age 25. Highest OPS+ age 26. Born: August 71991 (Age: 31-084d) in Vineland, NJ

Babe Ruth broke the season Home Run record in 1927 for the fourth and final time at age 32. However, the Babe hit 50 homers the first time in 1920 at age 25, as did Judge. Ruth first set the Home Run record with the Red Sox in 1919 with 29 homers at age 24. But Ruth's OPS+ in 1927 was his fifth best behind ages 25, 26, 28, 31. And his highs in other stats were scattered.

Barry Bonds OPS+ ages 38, 40, 37, 39. WAR ages 37, 38, 40. HR ages 37, 36, 38/29, 39/40Born: July 241964 (Age: 58-098d) in Riverside, CA

Mark McGwire  OPS+ ages 34, 32, 35. WAR age 34. HR ages 34, 35, 33, 32.

Aaron Judge had additional motivation to excel because 2022 was his walk year. After the World Series Judge may negotiate and sign with any team, including his Yankees.

Yankees should not sign Aaron Judge to a new contract. Let SF Giants pay him $50-75 million per season at age 31. Monday, October 24, 2022

Aaron Judge will be a free agent when the 2022 season ends after the World Series between the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies.

Judge set a Yankee record for Home Runs in a season with 62. It's also considered an "American League" (AL) record even though Judge hit 12 (19%) against "National League" (NL) teams ...

Houston swept the Yankees 4-0...

Judge made the final out of the season.

Judge looked increasingly lost at home plate in the 2022 tournament. He even made a fundamental fielding mistake in ALCS game three ...
