The supposed advantages to jerking around between pitches:
- think
- throw off the timing of the opponent.
Thinking is obviously a joke. But since all players now take time between pitches to throw off the timing of the opponent, wouldn't the opposite actually be different and so gain a competitive advantage?
Or are they doing so little thinking that even that obvious fact does not occur to them?
The speed up could be done by individuals or entire teams.
Why doesn't an owner tell his players to stop jerking around? Sunday, April 30, 2017
Teams could gain two positive benefits from speeding up:
- competitive advantage
- be more entertaining, less boring.
